Howdy D! I finally figured out how to log in and navigate the forums. A lot of them are Private or closed down, huh? I clicked on almost all of them, and the majority were Errors or Request Access. XD Anyhow, this place is awesome! I found the design forum too! Amazing, zero member ship fee designing! I'm officially in Seventh Heaven.
Glad you made it. Everything here is free, and all the styles shown in the styles forum are available to member and forum owners of this system. A forum owner can also upload their own css style sheet for their start page. So no matter what style a user uses to view their forum, the start page will be the one the forum owner wants them to see.
I'm going to put a feature list and some instruction posts to help people with using Beehive. I should probably do a few for the chat too. All public forums get their own chat room, but private ones just use the private member rooms each user gets at registration. I get around that by making my forum public, and restricting all my folders to make them private, then my private forum gets a chat room. lol
None of the forums are closed, but some are private. Usually due to things like content and age restrictions, those types of things. If you want a private forum here you can set it up as password protected, and people need a password to enter. You can set it as restricted access, where a forum owner or staff member adds the member's name to a list in the forum, then the member can just enter the forum like a public forum. Anyone who's not a member of the forum gets a message saying they're not a member. If you're not a member of the restricted forums, and they don't have a notification page set up for nonmembers, you'll get an error page.
Others choose to use groups and make their folders completely private, so anyone they haven't added to a group, gets a message saying there are no folders. Even though there are folders. They just can't see them.
Beehive gives a forum owner a lot more control options than DF ever gave me. Some things work a bit differently, but a lot of it isn't that different, and you can do things here you can't on a lot of other systems.
Like you can set up profiles for your forum that are unique to your forum. I don't think I've seen another system that does.
I actually just finished setting up my profile, and all the pretty graphics went away. :( It all looks very basic now, and I'm not sure what I did wrong.
Hon I can see both your profile image and your personal icon.
If you're not, check in My Controls, Forum Options and make you're not set to block signatures, images, etc. Many of the options you can set in My Controls you can set for a single forum, or for all of them.
I've just set your privileges for this forum. This system caches aggressively, so you may need to clear your history and browser cache to see any changes.
I did what you suggested. I went back through My Controls to make certain I wasn't blocking any sort of imagery. Then, I logged out, cleaned out my history, cookies, and caches...but all the CSS is still gone, and I'm only seeing my profile picture. I think I killed it.
What style are you using to view the forum and can you get me a screenshot?
I'm also in my forum chat room.
I have the screen shots, but I'm not sure how to add them without having to load them into a PhotoBucket.
I went back through all the forums as well, and you're right. There was only one Error that didn't show at all.

Well there all still there, except for Sovereignty. The guy wasn't ready for it so we reworked into an information forum for this system. I'm getting things ready to put into it for everyone, tutorials and such.
Some were private while they were being worked on and set up.
If I want my forum private, I private mine by setting them as public, then making all the folders private. Doing it that way gives me a system created chat room for the forum, and allows people to see the start page only, and maybe an access request folder, at least until I add them to a group.
Hey, that sounds good. Maybe we should make the forum I want to create like that. Public, with private folders. Can that be changed?
Of course! I have no problem with you removing the other post. :) I don't want to cause trouble for you in any way shape or form. I'm just overly curious, and sometimes I don't get things right away, so it frustrates me because I'm thinking that I didn't understand it.
The forum is coming along. I figured out how to get the Start Page up and going, but I'm still having difficulty with the CSS. I'll keep working on it though if it's the same as in Delphi. :D
