Realms: Sex & Language

It's a well known fact people of medieval times had sex. If they didn't, none of us would be here. In roleplay this means characters may have sex as well. However, just because a character has sex doesn't mean it has to read like a cheap pornographic novel.

You can usually achieve this by avoiding crude language. You know the kinds of talk we're talking about when we say crude language. If you start talking c*ck and p*ssy, you better be referring to a rooster and a cat. Even those you can find better words for we're sure.

We don't want to kill off anyone's creative fire, but a good writer can always find alternatives to the cheap pornographic novel or movie styling.

We also know medieval people cussed. Hell! People cuss today! 'WE' cuss from time to time! When appropriate. However, every other word of your post doesn't have to be something like f*ck. We're not saying your character can't cuss. We're just asking you to use such language appropriately, and whenever possible, try to come up with an alternative.

A few examples might be....
Damnit > By the hairs of a cross-eyed dwarf's beard! or By my riggins!
f*ck > Blast! or Blast it all! or Dirt diggers (insult to many dwarfs)!

We're not saying you always have to substitute, but we'd all appreciate it if you'd at least try to do so with the worst of the worst. Think, at the most, PG14 rating. If you wouldn't hear it in a PG14 rated movie. Don't use it. Substitute. You get the idea.

We haven't asked for any words to be filtered, and won't, unless language becomes an issue. We won't allow the realms to become a smut board. That type of thing ruins things for everyone trying to honestly read or play.

As far as signatures and graphics, it's simple. Put some clothes on! Also, nothing sexually explicit. No characters involved in sex acts types of things. Think, same thing as the language.

Well, hopefully, we've covered this enough.
