This sugar-free gummy bear recipe is a great alternative for anyone watching their sugar intake but craving some chewy, gummy candies. The best part is the flavor possibilities are limitless. Yum! I make these in gummy bear molds, but they can be made with any candy mold. They can be stored at room temperature but retain a better gummy texture when stored in the fridge.
Prep Time:15 mins Cook Time:10 mins Additional Time:1 hr Total Time:1 hr 25 mins Servings:15 Yield:75 gummy bears⅓ cup cold water
3 (.25 ounce) packages unflavored gelatin
½ package unsweetened soft drink mix (such as Kool-Aid®)
2 teaspoons stevia powder, or to taste
Place candy molds on a baking sheet. Set aside.
Measure cold water in a glass liquid measuring cup. Dissolve gelatin in cold water, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Stir in soft drink mix and stevia powder. Set aside.
Fill a saucepan almost halfway with water; bring to a boil. Place the measuring cup with gelatin mixture in boiling water; stir until syrupy.
Remove gelatin mixture from boiling water and immediately fill molds using a small syringe.
Chill molds in the refrigerator until set, at least 1 hour and up to 2 days. Remove gummies from molds.
You can use sugar-free Jell-O or any sugar-free drink mix instead of KoolAid and stevia.
You can use real fruit juice instead of cold water.
