Caramel Sauce

Caramel Sauce
 
1 c condensed milk
3/4 c brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 salt (optional)

In a pan, add butter and let melt.
Add milk and brown sugar.
Mix until sugar dissolves.
Let it come to a boil on low medium heat.
Add vanilla, and optional salt.
Mix and let it simmer until it thickens.

If you want candy,instead of sauce, simmer it a little longer.
Pour into parchment lined container.
Chill in fridge one hour, then remove from container and cut.
Store in fridge.
