Delphi Underground FAQ
What was the Delphi Underground?
The Delphi Underground was a niche community on the Delphi Forums where roleplay, spirituality, and the arts came together. Users assumed fictional personas and engaged in complex political intrigue, supernatural themes, and philosophical discussions.
How did personas work in the Underground?
Each user created multiple personas, but every persona required its own account. These personas interacted as characters in a shared world of mystery and intrigue.
What was the main genre of the Underground?
The primary genre was Post-Modern Gothic Urban Fantasy. Characters lived in customizable domains ranging from castles to high-tech fortresses, with heavy emphasis on politics, intrigue, and supernatural elements.
Was there combat in the roleplay?
Combat was rare, typically only occurring during Blood Hunts. The focus was more on social dynamics, politics, and character-driven narratives rather than frequent battles.
What inspired the content in the Delphi Underground?
The Underground drew heavily from supernatural folklore and popular fiction, weaving it into a unique space where personas thrived in an atmosphere rich with dark, gothic themes.
Were interactions strictly in-character?
Mostly. Conversations on message boards were primarily in character, though users occasionally broke character for niche discussions or to share personal insights on real-world topics.
What kind of discussions took place?
In addition to roleplaying, the Underground featured poetry sharing, philosophical debates, and even conversations about real-world politics and social issues, blending fictional narratives with reality.
What were the most common character alignments?
Alignments like Chaotic Neutral and Lawful Evil dominated the setting, as there were few purely "good" characters. The Underground thrived on moral ambiguity and complex motivations.
What did users’ domains look like?
Each persona's domain was a reflection of their personality and alignment. One character might reside in a dark, gothic castle, while another might live in a futuristic, high-security fortress.
Was the Delphi Underground exclusive to any one type of user?
No. The Underground welcomed anyone interested in exploring complex personas, narratives, and supernatural themes, encouraging creative expression and meaningful engagement with others.
TRANSCENDED Faction
One faction in the Underground stood out for defying typical boundaries: TRANSCENDED. Unlike other groups that followed the rule of being Sired into vampire factions or having one’s identity erased, TRANSCENDED embraced a different path.
Its motto, “Unity Beyond Boundaries, Allegiance Beyond Factions,” captured their cause—bringing together misfits, outcasts, and those who couldn’t or didn’t want to conform. I, Zaige, created the von Mitternacht family through my dhampir persona, Maximillion Tepes.
Later, as Maximillion von Mitternacht, this family welcomed those who didn’t fit elsewhere, giving them a place to belong. TRANSCENDED's goal was to create meaningful connections for individuals.
They helped people transcend the rigid structures of the Underground and build deeper relationships. This allowed them to break free from the traditional rules and form a unique sense of unity.
